Born
and Raised in Germany, Martin Dreilich showed an interest in
music early in his life. At eight years old, he studied the flute,
and by ten years old was learning the accordion. By the age of
fourteen he discovered his true musical heart in the blues. Inspired
by many blues and soul musicians, he took up the drums.
Martins talents where first showcased in his big brothers
band, Cool Tour. After ten years on the drums, he picked up the
tenor saxophone. In 1998, Martin left Germany for the United
States. Fueled by his love for the blues, Chicago was a natural
choice for his new stomping grounds.
Wasting no time on the Chicago circuit, Martin provided beats
for several Chicago based blues bands including Madman Blues,
The Mike Roberts Band, Less and the Most, Felix and the Cats,
and Willy Big Eye Smith. He is also frequents several open mic
blues jams in the Chicago area. It was one of these jams in late
99 that Martin was introduced to guitarist Neal
Rudnik.
Together the two collaborated on various projects before joining
Doris Spain and Ciba
Jensina. |
