Anthony Banks was born in Chicago in 1966. He fell in love with music at the age of 18, but he has been involved with music most of his life as he comes from a family of musicians that mostly played blues.

Throughout his career, he has mainly played gospel, funk and blues. He started playing bass guitar at the age of 30, but played electric guitar up until that time. His bass of choice is Ken Smith and he plays out of SWR410 speakers and a SWK 700.

He has played with the God Helping Hand Ministries, the Second Baptist in Wheaton Ministries, Love Center Ministry, Shilou Baptist Church, Greater Institutional A.M.E. Church, Chicago Blues Boys, Untouchable R. B., Johnie Blues Experience and the 911 R. B. Band.

Anthony now plays an integral part in redefining Rhythm on 22nd’s sound and in the creation of new songs. He continues to play gospel twice a week.
