Hello, I’m Alex Varner. I have been in the music business for over twenty years. I’m a Drummer, Writer, Producer, Arranger, Vocalist, Bandleader and a Team player.

I enjoy playing all genders of music; Rock, R&B, Blues, Smooth Jazz, Reggae, World Music, Polka RAP, Hip Hop, Country & Western, MoTown, Contemporary, Light music, Gospel, Latin, Christian Rock, Disco and Straight Ahead Jazz.

I started playing drums at the age of 14. I toured with Motown’s own Temptations and Four Tops, from 1979 through 1982. I was born and raised in Detroit Michigan.

I relocated to Chicago Metro Area in 1991. Since then and now, I continued to nurtured and expand my music knowledge and abilities.

I shared executive duties with a partner from Detroit and established an independent Record Label/Studio for several years (SCI Records).

I have over twenty years of Fortune Five Hundred business experience. Combining the skills of practical business, creativity and people skills has given my music and my life a fine balance.

My current projects include completion of a BIO-DVD. With this marketing tool, future clients, colleagues and artists will be able to see and hear my musicianship, writer, arranger and producer abilities.

This is available on DVD Presentation, and/or the old fashion way of attending a live performance, live shows and/or recording session.

I have a compact state of the art studio that has the capability of recording sound tracks, commercial jingles, beats, vocals, and music (Live, Digital, and Analog).
